At the big VGJunk site today: long-time readers will know that I have… issues with clowns, so how will I fare when faced with Konami’s arcade big-top-em-up Circus Charlie? Well for one think I was more worried about the suspicious elephant than anything else. You can find out all about it here!

Xenocide (Micro Revelations - Apple IIgs - 1987)
from MobyGames:
“Aliens have taken over the three moons orbiting your home planet, and your mission is to blow them up (not just the aliens, but the entire moons!).
Each moon contains four levels incorporating several gameplay modes and perspectives:
- Level 1 is a first-person 3D space flight simulation, as the player pilots a ship over the moon’s surface looking for the entrance to a cave.
- Level 2 is a side-view scrolling shooter in which the player explores the cave in search of bombs.
- Level 3 is similar to level 2, except it takes place underwater.”

Classic Ads: Xevious
Xevious (ゼビウス) is a vertical scrolling shooter arcade game by Namco, released in 1982 which runs on Namco Galaga hardware. It was designed by Masanobu Endō. In North America, the game was manufactured and distributed by Atari.
In 1983, it was the first arcade game to actually have a television commercial aired for it in the North American market. Atari promoted the game with the slogan “Are you devious enough to beat Xevious?” and closed the commercial with a tag line branding it “the arcade game you can’t play at home.” [Wiki]
